Dr. Valerie Martinsen Seifert
DDS
Dr. Valerie Martinsen Seifert grew up in La Porte, Indiana. She graduated as a Valedictorian from La Porte High School where she was involved in numerous organizations and sports teams. She went on to Valparaiso University where she played soccer for the Crusaders and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr. Seifert attended Indiana University School of Dentistry and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2007. While at IUSD, she was an active member of Delta Sigma Delta, an international dental fraternity, and a contributing author to its publication, Desmos.
In the fall of 2007, she opened a private dental practice in LaPorte and has reveled in serving her community through dentistry. Over the past 15+ years, Dr. Seifert has experienced tremendous growth and has created an extraordinary practice. After marrying in 2017 and changing her name, Dr. Val rebranded her practice as Maple City Dentistry beginning in 2018. The new name and brand reflect the practice’s commitment to continue to grow and better serve the oral health care needs of its patients.
Dr. Val is a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, Northwest Indiana Dental Society and the past President of the LaPorte County Dental Society. She is a past President of the Northwest Indiana Dental Society, and is a fellow in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists. Dr. Val is a distinguished member of the Academy of General Dentistry, having earned her Fellowship—an honor achieved by only 6% of dentists nationwide, reflecting her dedication to excellence and lifelong learning in dentistry. She is a mentor with CDOCS and helps to train other dentists in CEREC cad/cam technology.
She is a graduate of the American Dental Association’s Institute for Diversity in Leadership. She participated in the Indiana Dental Association’s AIR Leadership Program in 2014-2016 and is now a mentor and chairperson of the program. With a focus on mental wellness in dentistry as well as leadership, mentorship and diversity, equity and inclusion, she serves on numerous committees and task forces for the IDA and in the House of Delegates for the IDA and ADA.
Outside the office, Dr. Val is committed to community service and dedicates her time to various organizations including Big Comedy LaPorte and the LaPorte County Family YMCA. In her free time she loves spending her time cooking in her kitchen or running, biking and hiking outdoors with her husband Jason and two stepsons.
